FAQ
What changed in version 2.0.0?
- Recovery emails are now in the free plugin.
- Visitor email tracking captures the email typed at checkout, so guests can get recovery emails.
- The settings are organised into four tabs: Tracking, Lifecycle, Display and Email.
- Pro adds discount coupons to recovery emails.
- Live Carts Pro 2.0.0 requires Live Carts 2.0.0 or newer.
See the changelogs for everything: free plugin and Pro add-on.
Where is the Live Carts menu?
Under BerryPress → Live Carts. Before version 1.2.2 it was under WooCommerce.
Is Live Carts a wishlist plugin?
No. It shows WooCommerce's own Wishlist and Save for Later lists in the admin. See Shopper Lists.
Do I need Pro to send recovery emails?
No. Recovery emails and recovery links are free. Pro adds a discount coupon to the email.
Can I stop tracking my own carts?
With Pro you can exclude whole user roles, such as Administrator. See Tracking settings Pro. In the free plugin, test in a private window and trash the test carts afterwards.
Can I turn off revision history?
Yes, with Pro, in Settings → Tracking → Cart data Pro. Only new changes are affected. Existing history is kept.
What happened to my data after the 1.2.0 update?
Version 1.2.0 moved cart data to a new, faster structure. Existing carts were migrated automatically and nothing was lost. If the migration didn't finish, Status has a Re-run migration link.
The database table for carts is getting big. What can I do?
Most of the space is usually cart history (every added, removed or changed item). Lower the number of carts that keep history, or turn history off, in Settings → Tracking → Cart data Pro. The free plugin always records history, for the 100 most recently seen carts. You can also shorten how long carts are kept in Lifecycle settings Pro.
Avoid deleting rows from the database by hand. Ask support first.
Is it GDPR-friendly?
Live Carts stores cart data in your own WordPress database. You decide what is collected: turn off IP addresses, visited URLs or email tracking in Tracking settings. Whether you need consent depends on your region, so check with your legal advisor and update your privacy policy.
I upgraded or moved my license. Do I need to reactivate?
After an upgrade, the same order number keeps working. After moving to a new domain, deactivate the old site in your BerryPress account and activate on the new one. See Get and activate Pro.
