License Upgrades
Overview
License upgrade allows you to:
- Move to higher tier (Single Site → Unlimited Sites)
- Add unlimited sites to license
Prorated Pricing: You only pay the difference for remaining time.
Example: 6 months left on Single Site → Upgrade to Unlimited = Pay prorated difference
How to Upgrade
Method 1: Account Dashboard (Recommended)
- Log in to My Account → Subscriptions
- Find your subscription
- Click "Upgrade or Downgrade"
- Select new tier
- Pay prorated difference
- Instant activation
Advantages: Instant, automatic calculation, same order ID continues to work
BerryPress products use your order ID (also called subscription ID) for activation, not a separate license key. After upgrade, the same order ID continues to work with your new tier - no reactivation needed.
After Upgrading
Changes:
- License tier updated
- Site limit increased
Stays Same:
- Order ID (used for activation)
- Renewal date
- Subscription status
Downgrades
Downgrades are not automatic. Open ticket to discuss options.
- Cancel subscription
- Purchase lower tier before expiration
Prorated Pricing
How it works: You only pay the prorated difference between your current tier and the new tier for the remaining subscription time.
Formula:
You Pay = (New Price - Current Price) ÷ 365 × Days Remaining
The upgrade system calculates this automatically when you select a new tier.

Upgrade Button Not Showing
Open ticket - we'll create upgrade link
No need to deactivate/reactivate - your order ID automatically pulls the new tier info.
FAQs
Q: Do I need a new order ID after upgrade?
A: No. Same order ID, higher limits. No reactivation needed.
Q: When does renewal date change?
A: It doesn't. Stays the same.
Q: What if I need 2 more sites?
A: Upgrade to Unlimited tier. We offer two tiers: Single Site (1) and Unlimited Sites.
