Chart

Chart settings allow you to customize the appearance of the chart view of the report.

Chart Type​

Ninjalytics supports the following base chart configurations:

  • Line chart - series over time: Renders a line chart where each row in the report is plotted on its own line, over the specified reporting time period on the X axis. For example, sales for each product or product category would be represented by its own line. If more than one chart field is selected in the Fields section, each combination of product row and field would yield a separate line.
  • Line chart - totals over time: Renders a line chart where only the report totals are plotted over the specified reporting time period on the X axis. This yields one line for each selected chart field.
  • Line chart - from rows: Renders a line chart representing data from across the entire reporting period, with values of the Series/label field on the X axis.
  • Bar chart: Renders a bar chart, with each bar or group of bars representing one row in the report.
  • Pie chart Pro: Renders a pie chart to show the proportion of field values to each other. Multiple fields are supported, resulting in nested charts.

Series/label field​

For all chart formats except "Line chart - totals over time", this field is used to label the chart series.

Each value of the series/label field should only occur once in the report; if there are duplicates, the chart may only reflect one of the duplicated instances.
