Migrating to Ninjalytics

If you've used Product Sales Report, Product Sales Report Pro, Export Order Items, or Export Order Items Pro on this site before, you don't need to rebuild your reports from scratch. The first time Ninjalytics runs — with no Ninjalytics presets saved yet — it looks for settings left behind by those older plugins and turns them into Ninjalytics presets automatically.

This page explains what gets imported, what it's called afterward, and the handful of behavior differences worth checking once the import has happened.

When the import happens​

Ninjalytics checks for old settings once, the very first time its own settings are read (in practice, right after you activate it). If it finds any of the plugins below, it converts their last-used settings into one or more starter presets.

Already have Ninjalytics presets?

The import only runs while Ninjalytics has no saved presets of its own. If you've already created or saved anything in Ninjalytics — even by accident — the automatic import won't run, and old plugin settings will stay untouched. If that happened and you still want the old settings imported, contact support and we can help you pull them in manually.

Nothing is deleted from the old plugins during this process — Ninjalytics only reads their saved options and writes new presets of its own.

From Product Sales Report or Product Sales Report Pro​

If either plugin's settings are found, Ninjalytics imports the last report you ran as a preset named:

Last used settings from Product Sales Report

This becomes a Report-type preset (an aggregated report, not an export), matching how Product Sales Report worked. See Reports vs Exports if that distinction is new to you.

From Export Order Items or Export Order Items Pro​

Ninjalytics also looks for the free and Pro versions of Export Order Items, importing each one it finds as its own starter preset:

  • Last used settings from Export Order Items
  • Last used settings from Export Order Items Pro

These import as Export-type presets — one row per order or line item, just like the original plugin. Fields, filters, sort order, and the saved date range all carry over, including Export Order Items Pro's custom order/customer/product meta field filters.

Both free and Pro, side by side

If you had both Export Order Items and Export Order Items Pro active on the same site at different times, Ninjalytics imports both as separate presets rather than picking one — you can compare them and delete whichever you don't need.

What's different after migrating​

The plugins share a lot of DNA, but a few things work differently in Ninjalytics. Check these before you assume an imported preset behaves exactly like it used to:

Export Order Items Pro stored some custom field filters with an internal type prefixNinjalytics converts these automatically, but it's worth opening the imported preset's fields once to confirm everything mapped the way you expect.
Why this matters for date ranges specifically

If you had a report tuned to end at "11:59:59 PM" to work around the old exclusive-end behavior, that same setting in Ninjalytics may now include one extra second's worth of orders (there usually aren't any at that exact instant, but it's worth a quick check). After you migrate: a quick checklist​

Once your old settings show up as Ninjalytics presets, take a few minutes to confirm everything looks right before relying on them:

  1. Open each imported preset and run it — does the row count and total look like what you'd expect from the old plugin?
  2. If the preset used "Group By" in Product Sales Report Pro, check the new Segmentation settings match.
  3. If any custom fields (order meta, product meta, customer meta) were part of the report, open the field list and confirm they still point at the right data.
  4. Rename the preset — "Last used settings from Product Sales Report" is a good starting point, not a name you have to keep.
  5. If you plan to deactivate the old plugin, do it only after you've confirmed the imported preset works the way you want.
