Report Widgets
The Ninjalytics app allows you to display automatically updated metrics from your reports on your device's home screen using home screen widgets. (Currently supported on Android only - iOS users, stay tuned!)
You can add a Ninjalytics widget to your home screen using one of the following methods:
- Tap and hold the Ninjalytics app icon, select the Widgets option from the pop-up menu, tap and hold the Ninjalytics widget, and drop it on the desired location on your home screen once it becomes draggable.
- Tap and hold an empty area on your home screen, select Widgets from the options at the bottom of the screen, tap Ninjalytics, tap and hold the Ninjalytics widget, and drop it on the desired location on your home screen once it becomes draggable.
After dropping a Ninjalytics widget, the Widget Settings page should open automatically. You can configure the following options for the widget:
- Site: Select the site to show reporting data from.
- Report: Choose the report to run.
- Field: Select the field containing the metric you want this widget to display.
- Metric Type: Choose the type of value you are displaying. This is used to format the value. You can select from Text, Number, Currency, Currency (2 decimals), or Percentage.
- Currency Symbol: Customize the symbol shown at the start of currency values (if applicable).
- Widget Title: Set the title shown at the top of your widget so you can identify what it is displaying.
A preview is shown below the settings form so you can see what your widget will look like. Click the Save button once your widget is set up.
The date range for your widget is taken from the report preset or template settings.
Widget Updates
Once added, the widget should update itself automatically. Frequency of updates is controlled by your device's operating system and may vary. The last update date and time is shown on the widget. Tap the date and time to trigger an update.
Changing Widgets
Tap and hold on any Ninjalytics widget and select Settings from the menu to open its settings. You can also resize the widget's width by dragging its corners after tapping and holding. Resizing the height is not supported at this time.
Opening Reports
To open the report that is associated with a widget, simply tap anywhere on the widget (other than the update date and time).
