Getting Started
This guide walks you through your first sales report after install. For download and activation details, see Installation & Activation first.
Time needed: about 5 minutes · Requires: WooCommerce (or EDD / Live Carts for other templates)
Before you start
Free vs Pro
| You have… | Start here |
|---|---|
| Nothing yet — want free reporting | Install Free from WordPress.org |
| Purchased Pro | Install Pro ZIP + activation key |
| Legacy Product Sales Report on the site | Same plugin as Ninjalytics Free — presets may import automatically (Migrating) |
On Plugins → Installed Plugins, the free edition may appear as Product Sales Report for WooCommerce (folder product-sales-report-for-woocommerce). The admin menu label is Ninjalytics. That is expected — one product, two naming conventions.
Reports vs Exports
Choose the right template type in New Report:
| Type | One row represents… | Best for | Charts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reports | Aggregated totals (e.g. per product, per day) | Dashboards, trends, top sellers | Yes |
| Exports | One order or one line item | Fulfillment, accounting, spreadsheets | No |

Tips for larger stores
- Narrow the date range first when testing — confirm data appears, then widen.
- Increase PHP memory (
256Mor higher) if preview or export fails on large reports. - XLSX timeouts — reduce row count or use CSV; see Troubleshooting.
- HPOS — no extra Ninjalytics configuration; WooCommerce order storage mode is detected automatically.
