This comprehensive guide covers how to use the features of the Live Carts for WooCommerce plugin, from basic cart monitoring to advanced analytics and management tasks.

Admin Interface Overview
Accessing Cart Management
The plugin provides three main interfaces for cart management and analytics:
- Cart Management Interface: BerryPress → Live Carts
- Analytics Dashboard: Analytics → Carts (WooCommerce Analytics)
- Recovery Emails (Pro - Coming Soon): Automated cart recovery campaigns
Cart Management Interface
Cart List View
Navigate to BerryPress → Live Carts to access the main cart management interface.
Interface Elements
Filter Bar:
- All Carts: Shows all carts regardless of status
- Active: Displays only currently active carts
- Abandoned: Shows carts that have been abandoned
- Converted: Lists carts that resulted in orders
Search Functionality:
- Search by cart ID using the search box
Advanced Filters (Pro):
- Click "Show Filters" button to reveal filtering options
- Contains product - Multi-select dropdown to find carts with specific products
- User - Multi-select dropdown to filter by customer
- Min cart value - Filter carts above minimum amount
- Max cart value - Filter carts below maximum amount
- Click "Filter" to apply, "Clear" to reset
- Combine multiple filters for precise results
Cart List Columns:
- Cart ID: Unique 8-character hexadecimal identifier
- Status: Visual indicator (Active/Abandoned/Converted)
- User: Associated WordPress user (if logged in)
- Last Seen: Timestamp of last cart activity
- Coupons: Applied coupon codes (if any)
- Cart Value: Total monetary value of cart contents
Cart Status Indicators
Active Carts (Green indicator)
- Carts with activity within the last 2 hours (default)
- Currently being used by customers
- May still result in conversions
Abandoned Carts (Orange/Red indicator)
- No activity for the configured timeout period
- Prime candidates for recovery campaigns
- Contain valuable insight into checkout issues
Converted Carts (Blue indicator)
- Successfully resulted in completed orders
- Linked to specific WooCommerce orders
- Useful for conversion analysis
Cart Detail View
Click on any cart ID to view detailed cart information.
Cart Information Panel
Basic Details:
- Cart ID: Unique identifier
- Created: Initial cart creation timestamp
- Last Seen: Most recent activity time
- Status: Current cart status with last update time
- User: Associated user account (if available)
- IP Address: Customer IP (if collection enabled)
- Last URL: Last page visited (if URL tracking enabled)
Cart Metrics:
- Total Value: Current cart monetary value
- Item Count: Number of unique products
- Coupon Codes: Applied discounts
Pro Version Additional Details:
- Recovery URL: Unique link for cart recovery
- Create Order: Button to convert cart directly to WooCommerce order
Cart Contents Display
Product List:
- Product Images: Thumbnail display of cart items
- Product Names: Linked to WooCommerce product pages
- Quantities: Number of each item in cart
- Prices: Line totals
- Variations: Product variation details (if applicable)
- Product Weight (Pro): Individual and total weight if enabled in settings
Pro Version Cart Editing:
- Edit Quantities: Modify item quantities directly in admin
- Remove Items: Delete products from carts with remove buttons
- Add Products: Search and add new products to existing carts
- Client-side Updates: Changes reflect in customer sessions
- Save Changes: Apply modifications with interim total recalculation
Some plugins (e.g. those handling discounts, dynamic pricing, or user-specific rules) can affect the final cart total. Because of this, the interim amounts shown in the admin after saving the cart may not fully reflect all adjustments. The totals will be recalculated automatically the next time the user accesses a page on the frontend.
Cart Revision History
Available for all carts (added in version 1.2.1):
History Display:
- Shows chronological list of all cart modifications
- Each revision includes:
- Timestamp of change
- Type of change (Added/Removed/Changed quantity)
- Product name
- Quantity details

Pro Version:
- Toggle revision tracking in BerryPress → Live Carts → Settings
- Disable to save database space if history not needed

Analytics Dashboard
Accessing Analytics
Navigate to Analytics → Carts in your WooCommerce admin to access the comprehensive analytics dashboard.
Ninjalytics includes dedicated report templates for Live Carts data:
- Live Carts Report - Aggregate cart statistics and trends
- Live Carts Export - Individual cart data export with full details
- Carts by Status - Total cart value segmented by Active/Abandoned/Converted
- Average Cart Value - Monitor changes over time
Create custom reports with visual charts, flexible filtering, and export options. Perfect for deeper cart behavior analysis and revenue forecasting.
Dashboard Components
Date Range Selector:
- Use WooCommerce's standard date picker
- Compare different time periods
- Supports predefined ranges (Last 7 days, Last month, etc.)
Key Metrics Cards:
- Conversion Rate: Percentage of carts that become orders
- Abandonment Rate: Percentage of carts left incomplete
- Average Cart Value: Mean value of all tracked carts
Analytics
Conversion Rate:
- Percentage representation of conversion rates
- Period-over-period comparison
- Identify seasonal patterns and trends
Abandonment Analysis:
- Track abandonment patterns over time
- Identify peak abandonment periods
- Correlate with marketing campaigns or site changes
Cart Value Trends:
- Monitor average cart value changes
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities

Recovery Emails Management (Pro) - Coming Soon

Automated cart recovery campaigns will allow you to:
Daily Workflow
Monitoring Recovery Emails:
- View list of all recovery emails with status indicators
- Check which emails are Active vs Draft
- Review send timing and discount settings
- Edit emails as needed based on performance
Creating New Campaign:
- Click "Add New Email"
- Write compelling subject and body with shortcodes
- Set appropriate send timing based on customer behavior
- Add discount if desired (generates auto coupons)
- Save as Draft to review, or set Active to start sending
Email Sequence Management:
- Create 2-3 emails with increasing urgency
- Space emails appropriately (1 hour, 24 hours, 3 days)
- Increase discounts progressively (0%, 5%, 10%)
- Monitor which emails convert best
Using Advanced Filters (Pro)
Finding Specific Carts:
- Navigate to BerryPress → Live Carts
- Click "Show Filters" button
- Configure filters:
- By Product: Select one or more products to find carts containing them
- By Customer: Select specific users to view their carts
- By Value: Set min/max amounts to find high-value or low-value carts
- Click "Filter" to apply
- Click "Clear" to reset all filters
Common Use Cases:
- Find all carts with specific high-value product
- Identify carts from VIP customers
- Locate carts above certain value for targeted outreach
- Find carts with problematic products for quality checks
Customer Support Integration
Cart ID Lookup:
- Customer provides cart ID during support contact
- Search cart ID in BerryPress → Live Carts
- View cart details and contents
- Assist with technical issues or questions
Pro Version Support Features:
- Cart Recovery Assistance: Share recovery URLs with customers
- Direct Order Creation: Convert carts to orders manually
- Cart Editing: Fix cart issues or make suggestions directly (remove invalid items, adjust quantities, add or substitute products)
